I qualified as a doctor in Germany in 1989. I worked in conventional medicine for 8 years, first in hospital medicine, including paediatrics, and later as a GP. I undertook part of my GP training in the UK. Whilst working in this conventional environment, I became more and more dissatisfied with the fact that I was usually only treating symptoms, but not really dealing with the underlying cause of the ill-health of an individual person. Patients were returning with similar problems over and over again and I started to look at other ways of dealing with health and disease. Having become more aware of the connection of mind, body and spirit, I wanted to look more at the person as a whole. I also wanted to find ways to strengthen the general health and vitality of my patients in order to prevent illness and disease. In this search, I became more open to subtle ways of healing.

I came across Homeopathy via a friend of mine who was treated with Homeopathy successfully for recurrent urinary tract infections. I was sceptical at first but later heard someone describing the principle of Homeopathy and something just clicked. I then began studying homoeopathy in 1993 and I have never looked back. It has been my passion ever since. I received my specialist designation in Homeopathy in Germany in 1997 and started to work as a full-time physician and homeopathic doctor at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital (now the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine) in 1998. I gained membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1999 and have been on the specialist register of the Faculty since 2003. I have been awarded fellowship of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 2015. I am also involved in teaching Homoeopathy.

One of my special interests is treating children and the family as a whole. This interest led me to Craniosacral Therapy which is often used for babies treating colic and the like. Having experienced it as a patient myself, it intrigued me. I trained for 2 years at the College of Craniosacral Therapy in London and qualified in 2006. I have incorporated this therapy form into my private practice. I used to run a Mother and Baby clinic at a Children Centre in Islington for several years, before this Sure Start Initiative was sadly discontinued. .

Over the past few years, I have also incorporated more functional medical approaches into my practice, sparked by my own health journey. I have been looking more into gut health and inflammation and how to alter life style habits, including diet and exercise as well as relaxation to achieve better overall health.

I have been in private practice since 2001, using the above mentioned complementary treatment modalities. Having been medically trained, I am not opposed to conventional medicine. When used appropriately, it has so much to offer. I think it is ideal to use the best of both worlds. Complementary medicine can be used safely alongside conventional medicine. However, if it is possible, my main goal is always to strengthen the organism as a whole and for this to use complementary medicine. Nature has so many resources and often the organism only needs to be stimulated appropriately

I am registered with AXA health. German speaking consultations are alsopossible.

Additional qualification: MD with thesis about the investigation of the pressure and flow in the arm veins by phlebodynamometry and ultrasound-doppler-technique at the University of Bonn, Germany.

The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind
